News Triboro Musical Theatre will present " 1776" on Friday, June 20 and Saturday, June 21 at 7 pm at Thacher School, 7 James Street, Attleboro.
Above - John Adams (Devin Romanul), Ben Franklin (Dan Grenier), and Thomas Jefferson (Jake Robertson) Tickets are on sale now at Jaec's Coffee Shop or at the door for $10 for students and Senior Citizens and $18 for adults. The play was chosen because TMT wanted to visit the beginning of America's democracy due to the upcoming 4th of July holiday and the fact that this is such an important election year. Additionally, the HBO series on John Adams has sparked an interest in the man and his times. John Adams is the star of "1776."
Abigail Adams (Lori Pasquilino) The cast is made up of 26 individuals who are as interesting and as varied as the true life characters they play. There are women playing male roles, there are actors with years of experience and some that have very little but have a great deal of talent. There's the head of Bishop Feehan's Guidance Department, Neil Loew, playing Stephen Hopkins of Rhode Island. He joined the cast to spend some time with his son, Brian, who plays John Dickinson of Pennsylvania. There are three Nelson siblings; Paul, playing John Hancock, Amanda, playing Roger Sherman and Phil, playing Rev. John Witherspoon. There are two who have recently returned from time abroad - Phil Nelson and Sarah Mielbye, playing Robert Livingston. Ted Nesi, a journalist with the Sun Chronicle plays Richard Henry Lee of Virginia. Playing John Adams is Devin Romanul, a candidate for election to the Massachusetts State House of Representatives.
